Proudly owned by Australian Farmers McLean Farms, a family-owned and operated agri-business located just 20 minutes northeast of Bendigo, is seeking a Rearing Poultry Maintenance to be part of our thriving farm operation and our welcoming and inclusive team. About the Role: The Poultry Rearing Maintenance Person is responsible for supporting the rearing section through maintenance and livestock support. This role involves ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and operational, as well as assisting with the care and welfare of poultry. The Maintenance Person will work under the direction of the Rearing Supervisor to perform various tasks essential to the smooth operation of the farm. Key Responsibilities: - Maintenance Tasks - Perform regular maintenance and repairs on farm equipment and facilities, ensure all systems are functioning properly, conduct routine inspections to address issues promptly, and assist with equipment setup and teardown as needed.
- Operational Tasks - Carry out daily feeding, cleaning, and maintenance tasks as directed; assist with procuring and managing inventory of supplies; ensure all equipment and facilities are clean and fully operational; and be available on an on-call basis to respond promptly to shed alarms, reporting any issues immediately.
- Animal Care - Assist with the daily care of poultry by ensuring proper nutrition, health, and welfare, monitor bird growth and development while reporting any issues, and help implement vaccination and health programs to prevent and manage diseases.
- Record Keeping - Assist with maintaining accurate records of bird health, feed consumption, and production metrics, and help prepare reports on flock performance and health status as needed.

What we are looking for: - Demonstrated high-level communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Experience in planning, organising, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated time management, attention to detail and self-motivation and professional skills commensurate with the role.
- Ability to use a range of computer applications.
- Be available on an on-call basis to respond to shed alarms and promptly report any issues.
