We are seeking a motivated and reliable Cage Free Supervisor at our Hopevale farm, near Pittsworth. You will be supporting daily poultry operations and ensuring excellence in animal welfare, biosecurity, and productivity. About the Role
Reporting to the Cage Free Assistant Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for overseeing daily operations across our cage-free poultry sheds; including egg collection, bird husbandry, shed maintenance, and team coordination.
The successful applicant will help ensure high standards of bird welfare, productivity, and site presentation, while promoting a positive and safe working environment. This position is ideal for someone with poultry or livestock experience who is ready to take the next step into a supervisory role. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily egg collection routines and monitor egg production performance.
- Ensure birds have consistent access to feed and water, with optimal shed conditions.
- Conduct shed inspections to identify health or welfare issues and ensure humane management.
- Coordinate minor shed and grounds maintenance activities.
- Supervise and participate in shed cleaning and hygiene programs.
- Prepare sheds for pullet placement and spent hen removal.
- Promote a zero-waste culture through efficient feed and resource management.
- Respond to after-hours alarm callouts as required.
About You - Experience working in poultry or livestock farming (supervisory experience ideal but not essential).
- Strong understanding of animal welfare, food safety, and biosecurity practices.
- Practical and hands-on with good mechanical aptitude.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of leading small teams.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a farm environment.
- Willingness to work weekends (10 on 4 off roster), public holidays, and after-hours as required.
