About the Role:

As the Poultry Operations, Information, & Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of poultry rearing and laying data management. Your technical expertise will support farm operations, and your insights will drive informed decision-making that enhances production efficiencies. This position is crucial to the success of our poultry operations, ensuring data accuracy, trend analysis, and best practice implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management & Analysis: Oversee data collection and management for poultry rearing and laying, develop databases, conduct analysis, and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
  • Technical Support: Provide high-level technical support, troubleshoot issues related to poultry health and equipment, and assist in implementing new technologies.
  • Decision-Making Support: Offer data-driven insights to senior management, participate in strategic planning, and support the development of operational strategies.
  • Animal Welfare & Biosecurity: Lead teams in animal welfare, biosecurity, and vermin control, ensuring compliance with industry standards and conducting regular audits.
  • Training & Development: Train staff on data management and technical procedures, promote continuous improvement, and keep the team informed of industry trends.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work with various departments to develop training strategies, evaluate processes, and implement improvements.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Technical expertise in poultry operations, including equipment, animal health, and biosecurity.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and influence a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data management.
  • Ability to contribute to high-level strategic decisions with well-informed, data-driven insights.

You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands. You must be able to work weekends and public holidays as per a rotating roster.

You must not have any birds, pigs or poultry at home, and you must not regularly come into contact with birds, pigs or poultry in order to work at McLean Farms.
