About the Role
As the Fabrication Workshop Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring company assets and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. You will be responsible for scheduling preventative maintenance, supervising workshop activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

 

Daily duties will include:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the fabrication workshop, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Oversee routine building and housing maintenance, addressing structural concerns and ensuring company-owned properties remain safe and functional.
  • Schedule and manage preventative maintenance for workshop plant, tools, and equipment to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Lead and mentor the workshop team, providing training and support to apprentices and identifying potential tradespeople for career progression.
  • Maintain safety and compliance by enforcing workplace safety regulations and ensuring a clean, hazard-free environment.
  • Use AutoCAD to create and deliver fabrication drawings, supporting workshop activities and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with the Ancillary Services Manager to improve maintenance planning, resource allocation, and operational efficiencies.
  • Preparation of reporting for Management.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in alignment with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standard

What You’ll Bring:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade is essential.
  • Proven experience in a fabrication workshop or similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Technical proficiency in AutoCAD for fabrication drawings.
  • Experience with MEX preferred but not essential.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to maintenance and workshop operations.
  • A commitment to upholding safety and quality standards.
