About the Role: Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and financial support to the finance team, ensuring the accurate processing of transactions, maintenance of financial records, and efficient delivery of accounts payable, receivable, reconciliation, and reporting activities across all McLean Farms group entities. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive administrative support to the finance team to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Assist with a variety of administrative tasks and ad hoc requests to support smooth financial processes.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records and filing systems.
- Support data validation activities, including coding, checking, and reviewing transactions as required.
- Respond to internal and external enquiries in a timely and professional manner, including managing the company landline during staff absences.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices with a high level of accuracy.
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including reconciliations and follow-up on outstanding debts.
- Analyse sales performance and monitor pricing and item consistency.
- Accurately process data entry for accounts payable transactions.
- Assist with accounts payable reconciliations and supplier statement reviews.
- Support the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payments via banking platforms.
- Monitor and schedule recurring payments to ensure all deadlines are consistently met.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports across multiple business entities.
- Support month-end processes, including the preparation and posting of journals.
- Perform bank reconciliations across all entities within the McLean Farms group.
- Complete account reconciliations, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and appropriately filed.
What we are looking for: - Completed or currently studying towards an accounting degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance supporting role
- Awareness and understanding of completing tasks in adherence to the Australian Accounting Standards
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with all internal and external stakeholders of the organisation
- Strong written and oral communication, the ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
- Emphasis on accuracy and high quality of work
- Proficient computer skills with emphasis in using Microsoft Office products including but limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and use of an accounting software ERP
- Sound reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
- Understanding and adoption of organisation environmental responsibilities and practices
- Ability to instruct, educate and support other members of the team to ensure compliance with systems, processes, policies and procedures.
